AI replaces teachers |
Imagine you are a pupil in a school which is considering artificial intelligence (AI) in the classroom. Write a letter to your head teacher explaining-
Why you would or would not want to see artificial intelligence used in your school.
Dear headteacher,
First and foremost, the idea of "AI replace is teachers" infuriates me, as I, to the core of my heart know that no algorithms and robotic techniques can beat providing the understanding, patience, social communication, empathy, warmth and nurture; the personal touch that you, 'human' teachers provide.
Yes, teachers are paid salary every month and that may be expensive in the long run but they deserve it! and let's not over look the colossal initial and maintanance costs of AI.

Additionally AI offers to provide infallible services; always correct available 24/7. No doubt these are extremely beneficial but a school is the highly emotive place! this is where children are raised! where teachers are our mentor, role models, our 'Gurus'! we look up to them as an example. You tell me, is this what kids should be looking up to ? never making mistakes, striving for perfection over progress and never resting?
AI the word itself says Artificial intelligence, a virtual human lacking emotions and empathy. I don't see why we should encourage something that fades real, genuine humanity, empathy and intelligence that we humans possess.
Last but not the least as I said teachers are our Gurus. In fact I still have a lifelong bond with some of my old teachers. You are not just education providers, you are way more than that. And placing AI besides teachers is a disrespect to the highly motive word 'Guru' as AI will always be dwarfed in contrast to the unlimiting skills teachers possesses.
Thank you for reading through, I am sure you will certainly choose what's best for us
Your lovingly, Syra
